💼 About the position

Bright is recruiting an execution-oriented VP of Sales to scale up Bright’s sales team from 30 to 100+ and run day-to-day operations as they grow >2x each year for the foreseeable future in order to get to 30% market share in the country. This mission-driven leader will be responsible for most sales and operational functions at Bright including business development, sales, marketing, customer service, operations, legal, and public policy, while the CEO will tackle finance, software and product.

🥇 We’re looking for someone who

  • Has a proven track record of: growing a $5MM+ ARR technology business with ~30-90 day sales cycles, as well as scaling a B2B or B2C sales team from 30 to 100+ and using a diverse set of sales channels.

  • Is dying to “get back to their roots” of building and scaling after having done so. You’re tired of the larger corporate life and have thought about starting a new company or building an established one but rapidly and with capital to do so.

  • Is able to execute with precision and with a constrained budget: You’re able to turn the CEO’s vision into a reality by implementing processes with measurable results and doing so under a conservative budget.

  • Has experience establishing lead scoring methodologies, allocating prospects based on robust rules to maximize conversion, and demonstrates a keen understanding of the leading factors/metrics to drive sales.

  • Is a master at prioritization: You’re able to ruthlessly prioritize in a fast-paced environment with many conflicting interests. You set deadlines, follow up, and hold yourself and your team accountable.

  • Is highly analytical and uses data to ensure accountability; establishes and uses leading and lagging indicators and operates using well thought out dashboards.

  • Is a strong communicator in both English and Spanish: You can mentor and hold high standards for concise, actionable and streamlined communication for a remote, distributed team. You are prepared to act as a spokesperson for both the staff and C-suite of a company and have experience owning internal communications.

  • Is able to delegate with ease: You are an expert at matching departments’ strengths and skills with the tasks and goals at hand so that everyone on the team can be effective and motivated toward the same vision. You will define clear goals for each team member.

  • Has a proven ability to run, recruit and develop a high-performing team: lowering attrition and promoting from within.

  • Biases towards urgency: you’re great at solving problems in short periods of time.

  • Is a selfless leader: You care deeply about those you work with and see your job to better serve them so they can deliver on our mission to reverse global warming.

  • Is located within a 3 hour time zone of CDMX: we’re fully distributed so we’re flexible in terms of where you spend most of your time!

💻 Your tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Achieve 30% market share in Mexico. Bright’s plan is to double year over year in kWs installed over the next couple years while enhancing unit economics. Key to do so will be realistic and well thought out plans that achieve full stakeholder alignment and involve rigorous reporting on both leading and lagging measures.

  • Scale a sales team from 30 to 100+ AEs and use a tech stack for lead scoring assignment, sales funnel, metrics, etc.

  • Increase operational efficiency: Bright needs to scale as a technology driven company - you'll be key in partnering with the software and product teams to scale Bright more effectively and efficiently as they expand into new markets in the LatAm region.

  • Recruit and manage a world class team: Bright sees the opportunity to continue to raise the bar on their talent pool as they grow their current distributed team of ~130 folks. You’ll be critical to making sure this goal is achieved.
