💼 About the position:
Join us as an Accounting Analyst to bring clean solar energy to Mexico! You will play a key role in supporting Bright's mission by aligning our Accounting Team with the company's priorities. You'll organize and deliver accounting information, audit invoices, coordinate with lawyers on tax-accounting transactions, and present tax declarations. Working closely with other teams, you'll help ensure our processes are fully auditable. Success in this role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments to drive efficiency and compliance. You'll work directly alongside the Head of Accounting to achieve Bright's goals.

Your experience and skills:
Technical skills: You have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a similar field and + 3 years of experience in accounting (preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector).
English: You are comfortable speaking English and communicating concisely.
Problem-Solving: You find innovative ways to implement changes in invoicing to customers within financial leases, subscriptions, etc. while ensuring tax and accounting compliance.
Communication: You clearly explain new financial reporting standards to a marketing or sales team and how it affects their budgeting.
Collaboration: You collaborate with the different departments in challenging situations when implementing new tax law changes, such as new invoicing rules.
💻 Your tasks and responsibilities will be:
This involves managing key accounting functions for Mexican entities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness in financial reporting and operational processes. You will oversee the collection and delivery of accounting information, support audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial accuracy and streamline processes. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and compliance standards.
Monthly Accounting Management: Collect and deliver monthly accounting information for Mexican entities, prepare intercompany invoices, and assist with monthly and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate reporting.
Audit Support: Review incoming and outgoing invoices for accuracy and policy compliance, collect and organize audit evidence, and create required accounting documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring timely submissions.
Process Documentation and Coordination: Document accounting processes involving collaboration with other company areas, and coordinate with legal teams to ensure the accuracy and compliance of accounting transactions.
Expense Verification Management: Oversee "gastos por comprobar" (expenses to be verified), ensuring proper documentation and policy adherence. Record and reconcile costs in the accounting platform, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
Supplier Relationship and Payments: Assist in managing supplier relationships and payment processes, ensuring seamless and accurate transactions.
Ad-Hoc Financial Projects: Lead and support financial reporting and process improvement projects, contributing to the continuous enhancement of accounting and operational workflows.
🎯 Your Key Results will be:
At Bright we operate on the Objective Key Results System pioneered at Intel and used widely by Google and many tech companies. For this specific role, your Key Results (upon which your success will be measured) is:
Objective: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, payment processing, and tax compliance to meet organizational goals and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Key Result 1: 100% of the monthly accounting information and payment process (once per week) is delivered according to Service Level Agreements.
Key Result 2: 100% of accounting trial balances and month-end closing tasks are delivered according to Service Level Agreements.
Key Result 3: 100% of tax compliance for the Bright entities
Key Result 4: 100% of payments are made according to Service Level Agreements.
