💼 About the position:
Join us as an Industrial Construction Director to bring clean solar energy to Mexico! You’ll work closely with our Industrial Engineering and Project Management Team and play a critical role in achieving Bright’s goals by aligning with the company’s priorities. You’ll be responsible for building the capability and network of the industrial team, creating the strategy for deploying 300 MW+ of industrial distributed solar projects in the next few years, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and under budget through third-party contractors. You will collaborate with Sales and Finance to drive the construction and operation of profitable solar projects. Success in this role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

🥇 Skills you’ll need:
Construction Leadership: 10+ years of experience managing industrial-scale solar or renewable energy projects, with expertise in Mexican construction regulations, permitting processes, and compliance.
Project Management & Organization: Proven ability to oversee complex projects within time and budget constraints, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously with certifications like PMP or PRINCE2.
Problem Solving: Strategic and proactive in identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions for seamless execution.
Communication & Collaboration: Clear and professional communication with stakeholders, fostering teamwork and successful project outcomes.
Cultural Alignment & Networking: Deep understanding of Mexican culture and market dynamics, with strong vendor relationships and a robust network in the construction and solar industries.
💻 Your Responsibilities:
You will lead and develop technical construction capabilities, ensuring project success through meticulous planning, execution, and communication. This role involves overseeing all aspects of on-site construction and commissioning, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards, and fostering collaboration across teams and stakeholders. Success in this position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to industry best practices.
Lead and build technical construction capabilities within the engineering and project management teams.
Ensure comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets are developed and met.
Oversee all on-site civil, electrical, and solar construction and commissioning activities, adhering to best industry practices.
Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including Sales, Engineers, and Vendors.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards.

At Bright, we operate on the Objective Key Results System pioneered at Intel and used widely by Google and many tech companies. For this specific role, your Key Results (upon which your success will be measured) is:
Objective: Ensure Bright, sustainable operations by maximizing customer lifetime value.
Key result 1: Increase post-commissioning weighted average IRR of all industrial projects by 1% by Q3 end. (From 23% post-commissioning weighted average IRR of all commissioned GDMT projects by Q2 end).
Objective: Maximize Customer's Lifetime value by ensuring customers are installed in the shortest time possible.
Key result 1: 100% Conversion rate from Welcome Call to commissioning approved at 120-day cohort in Q3 (from 67% welcome call to comm. approved 120-day cohort conversion rate in Q2).
Key result 2: 100% of Industrial SLAs from the Ops and CE teams delivered during Q3 (from 81% in Q2 2024).
