💼 About the position:

Join us as a Software Product Operations to bring clean solar energy to Mexico! Work with our Software Product Team and play a critical role in achieving Bright's goals by aligning the Operations team with the company's priorities. You'll be responsible for overseeing data analytics, generating valuable insights, and developing tools that empower all departments at Bright to make informed daily prioritization decisions. You will collaborate with the Operations, Finance, and Customer Enjoyment teams to drive business growth and enhance overall team efficiency.

🥇 Who you are:

  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.

  • You have excellent logical problem-solving and deductive structure thinking.

  • You have engineering, preferably in data analytics, telematics, software, informatics engineering, or similar.

  • You are comfortable speaking English and communicating concisely.

  • You have the following skills:

    • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of SQL (preferably PostgreSQL):

      • (i.e., You developed a complex SQL query in PostgreSQL to extract and aggregate user engagement metrics from multiple tables, providing actionable insights that led to a 20% improvement in feature adoption rates).

    • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex data issues:

      • (i.e., You resolved an issue with inconsistent user data by analyzing discrepancies, identifying the root cause in the data integration process, and implementing a solution that improved data accuracy by 35%).

    • Process-driven thinking:

      • (i.e., You created and documented a standardized process for monitoring product performance metrics, which streamlined reporting and reduced the time spent on data collection and analysis by 40%).

    • Basic SW/business intelligence tools and platforms (Retool, Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, Github, and Basecamp):

      • (i.e., You built an interactive dashboard in Tableau to visualize user behavior trends, enabling the product team to quickly identify and address usability issues, which improved user satisfaction by 25%).

    • Logic problem-solving and deductive structure thinking:

      • (i.e., You used deductive reasoning to troubleshoot a data discrepancy in a product performance report, isolating the issue to a data pipeline error and correcting it to ensure accurate reporting).

    • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences:

      • (i.e., You presented a detailed analysis of user engagement trends to technical and non-technical team members, using clear visuals and straightforward explanations to ensure alignment on product improvement strategies).

  • Preferred:

    • You have basic HTML and JavaScript skills (desirable).

      • (i.e., You developed a basic HTML and JavaScript-based dashboard widget to display real-time data updates for internal stakeholders, enhancing visibility into crucial product performance indicators.)

💻 Your tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Designing and implementing improvements to processes to increase efficiency and data accuracy across all areas.

    • (i.e., Redesign the data entry process for the sales department by introducing an automated validation system that reduced manual errors by 50% and cut the data processing time by 30%, leading to more accurate and timely sales reports).

  • We design, develop, and maintain business intelligence tools, dashboards, and reports to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

    • (i.e., Developed and maintained a comprehensive dashboard in Power BI that integrated data from multiple sources, allowing executives to track real-time performance metrics and make informed decisions that resulted in a 15% increase in operational efficiency).

  • Analyzing complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategy and drive process improvements.

    • (i.e., Analyze customer feedback data using advanced analytics techniques to identify key pain points and trends, providing actionable insights that led to a new customer retention strategy, improving retention rates by 20%).

  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics to ensure the department remains competitive and efficient.

    • (i.e., Attended industry conferences and completed advanced courses in data analytics to stay current with the latest tools and methodologies, implementing best practices that improved data visualization accuracy and reporting speed by 25%).

  • We establish and maintain strong relationships with organizational stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

    • (i.e., Held regular meetings with key stakeholders from various departments to gather requirements and feedback on data needs, ensuring alignment between business goals and data strategies, which enhanced inter-departmental collaboration and project success rates).

🎯 Your Key Results will be:

At Bright, we operate on the Objective Key Results system pioneered at Intel and used widely by Google and many tech companies. For this specific role, your Key Results  (upon which your success will be measured) is:

  • Objective: Efficient Management of High-Effort Software Requests.

    • Key Result 1:  100%  SW request with an effort score >5 marked as "to do" closed on SLA.

  • Objective: Timely Closure of Low-Effort Software Requests.

    • Key Result 2: 100% of Software requests with an effort score<5 marked as "to do" closed on SLA.
