💼 About the position:

Join us as a Procurement and Logistics (P&L) Senior to bring clean solar energy to Mexico! Work with our Procurement & Logistics Team and play a critical role in achieving Bright's goals by aligning with the company's priorities. You'll be responsible for leading our operational efforts to bring clean solar energy to Mexico, driving impact as we prepare to double our growth each year over the coming years, expanding and strengthening our P&L team will be essential to our success, and you will play a pivotal role in aligning the team's priorities with Bright's mission. You will collaborate directly with our Head of Operations to drive and oversee all procurement, logistics, and supply chain management aspects.

Your experience and skills:

  • Technical skills: You have a bachelor's degree, preferably in supply chain management or something related; and you have strong knowledge of the Procurement and Logistics Industry and desire to grow within this field.

  • Previous experience: You have been part of a former Procurement and Logistic Team and have experience building processes in a startup environment; and you have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in supply chain management.

  • English: You have advanced English skills, with the ability to draft, edit, and present professional reports and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

  • Financial Management: You have 3+ years of experience managing budgets of $1M to USD 5M per month in a low-margin industry; e.g., logistics, retail.

  • Supply Chain Optimization: You specialize in supply chain optimization, cutting costs by 15% through better contracts, inventory, and logistics. You’ve secured credit terms over 90 days and $1M credit lines while managing residential, commercial, and industrial operations efficiently.

  • Leadership and Team Management: You have led cross-functional teams of 10+ in logistics, procurement, and operations within dynamic start-up environments. You implemented incentive programs that drove a 4X increase in company volume within a year. Additionally, you managed remote teams across regions using tools like Slack and Zoom, fostering clear communication and team cohesion.

  • Nice to have:

    • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or related: You applied Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate waste, contributing to significant cost savings and enhanced productivity.

    • Experience with transportation and inventory management systems (Odoo Inventory, Zoho Inventory): You have leveraged Zoho Inventory to integrate with e-commerce platforms, enhancing real-time visibility and reducing order processing times by 20%.

    • Leadership experience in contract management and negotiations: You have led a team of contract managers to streamline the contract approval process, reducing turnaround time by 40% and improving compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

    • Management of international suppliers: You have successfully navigated complex international logistics and compliance issues, resulting in a 15% reduction in lead times and a 10% decrease in supply chain disruptions.


💻 Your tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • This involves driving operational excellence in procurement, logistics, and cost management by implementing precise budget forecasting tools, leading supplier negotiations, and optimizing delivery strategies. You will continuously analyze market trends and collaborate with recruiting partners to build a robust talent pipeline while ensuring alignment with strategic OKRs. Creativity, organization, and a focus on cost efficiency will be key to your success.  You will collaborate with the Operations and Finance Teams to ensure seamless integration of cost-saving initiatives, enhance budget accuracy, and align procurement and logistics strategies with overall business objectives.

    • Implement budget forecasting tools to achieve over 99% accuracy in forecasts versus real expenses through supplier invoice tracking and credit line management.

    • Develop and execute cost-saving initiatives to reduce total CapEx expenditures by 10%.

    • Lead negotiations with key suppliers to secure favorable terms, monitor contract compliance, and resolve performance issues, ensuring cost-effective procurement.

    • Optimize last-mile delivery strategies to ensure timely and cost-efficient logistics while reducing inventory through improved demand forecasting and real-time stock adjustments.

    • Evaluate and select external recruiting partners, establishing performance metrics to build a strong and capable talent pipeline.

    • Monitor market trends, supplier conditions, and emerging technologies to identify and implement strategic improvements in procurement and logistics operations.

    • Establish OKRs for the procurement and logistics team and design incentive programs, including performance-based bonuses and recognition awards, to drive results.

🎯 Your Key Results will be:

  • At Bright, we operate on the Objective Key Results System pioneered at Intel and used widely by Google and many tech companies. For this specific role, your Key Results  (upon which your success will be measured) is:

    • Objective: Ensure Bright is financially sustainable by maximizing project profitability.

      • Key result 1: >99% accuracy on monthly forecasting vs real expenses. 

      • Key result 2: >10% total CapEx reduction (including marginal and overhead expenses).

    • Objective: Streamline overall supply chain processes to increase customer satisfaction

      • Key result 1: >30% reduction in material SLA complete delivery for residential, small commercial, and industrial projects.

      • Key result 2: 50% reduction in the average inventory rotation days.
