Industrial Sales Engineer

💼 About the position:

Join us as a Sales Engineer to bring clean solar energy to Mexico! Work with our sales and technical teams and play a critical role in achieving Bright’s goals by aligning with the company's priorities. You'll be responsible for analyzing project feasibility, reviewing potential production and CAPEX, and assessing risks. You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations teams to drive successful project proposals and ensure technical viability.

🥇 Who you are:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Industrial, or Renewable Energies). 

  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in technical sales or pre-sales engineering in the solar industry. 

  •  You are comfortable communicating technical and financial data clearly. 

  • You are familiar with local regulatory requirements and permitting processes for industrial solar installations.

  • You have proven experience with solar production simulations and CAPEX estimations for industrial-scale projects. 

  • You have the following skills:

    • Strong Analytical skills:

      • (I.e. You have the ability to identify risks and cost optimization opportunities early in project planning, including design optimizations, financial structures, or space utilization improvements).

    • Solar simulation tools and financial modeling software:

      • (I.e. You have the proven experience creating designs with Helioscope or similar PV design softwares or CADs for >300 kW systems in an  industrial environment).

      • (I.e. You have experience creating commercial proposals for solar financing).

  • You are familiar with local regulatory requirements and permitting processes for industrial solar installations.

💻 Your tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Implementing budget forecasting tools that lead to an accuracy above 99%  of forecasting vs real expenses (based on supplier invoice tracking and credit line management) and implementing cost-saving initiatives to enhance 10% total CapEx expenditure reduction.

    • (i.e. You have integrated real-time data analytics to monitor and forecast spending trends, resulting in a precise alignment between budget forecasts and actual expenditures).

  • Lead high-impact negotiations with key suppliers to secure favorable terms and manage contracts effectively.

    • (i.e. You will manage contracts effectively by monitoring compliance, addressing performance issues, and ensuring that all terms were met, which contributed to a more cost-effective procurement process).

  • Oversee the optimization of last-mile delivery strategies to ensure timely, cost-effective, customer-focused logistics operations and inventory reduction.

    • (i.e. You focus on inventory reduction by improving demand forecasting and adjusting stock levels based on real-time sales data).

  • Evaluate and select external recruiting partners that align with the company's needs to build a robust talent pipeline.

    • (i.e. You develope criteria for evaluating recruiting partners and established performance metrics to ensure they met hiring objectives and contributed to building a strong, capable team).

  • Continuously monitor market trends to identify and implement strategic improvements in procurement and logistics.

    • (i.e. You analyze industry reports, supplier market conditions, and emerging technologies to adapt procurement strategies and logistics operations).

  • Establish OKRs and incentive programs that drive the procurement and logistics team to achieve strategic goals.

    • (i.e. You create incentive programs tied to these OKRs, including performance-based bonuses and recognition awards).

🎯 Your Key Results will be:

At Bright, we operate on the OKR system pioneered at Intel and used widely at Google and many tech companies. For this specific role, your Key Results  (upon which your success will be measured) are:

  • Objective: Ensure Bright is financially sustainable by maximizing project profitability.

    • Key result 1: >99% accuracy on monthly forecasting vs real expenses. 

    • Key result 2: >10% total CapEx reduction (including marginal and overhead expenses).

  • Objective: Streamline overall supply chain processes to increase customer satisfaction

    • Key result 1: >30% reduction in material SLA complete delivery for residential, small commercial, and industrial projects.

    • Key result 2: 50% reduction in the average inventory rotation days.
